PPR Soon To Become A Strong and Only Fashion Group

In an interview to the Wall Street Journal last November, François Pinault – PPR’s CEO – re-asserted his will to strengthen the group’s luxury brands by selling La Fnac and Conforama “the sooner the better”.

PPR is a French multinational holding company specializing in retail shops and luxury brands.
The group’s main activity is the retailing business thanks to La Fnac which is the leader of cultural and technological products in southern European countries and Conforama, which is a major player in European home furnishings. Following the project of strategic agreement between PPR and L’Oréal regarding YSL Beauté, as announced on January 23rd, both parties reported by press release on April 30th that they have finalised the YSL Beauté licensing agreements and the sale of the company to French cosmetics giant L’Oréal. The contract, which includes trademarks and licenses for the fragrances and cosmetics of the brands Yves Saint Laurent, Boucheron, Stella McCartney, Oscar de la Renta and Ermenegildo Zegna, has been signed after three months of negotiation.
