L’Artisan Parfumeur – Uniqueness Is The Key To Sucess
Despite the crisis a market for luxury good still remains. The French fragrance house L’Artisan Parfumeur is selling exclusive perfumes at an unreasonable – or not? – price of 10′000$.
L’Artisan Parfumeur has an unprecedented service, offering its clientele the chance to create their own signature scent. Also, the French house launched « Mon Numero », a limited collection of 7 fragrances from number 1 to number 8 but excluding number 5, in order not to interfere with the legendary Chanel n°5 parfum.
The collection was preciously elaborated by renowned French Perfume nose (”Nez”) Bertrand Duchaufour. He was asked to join L’artisan Parfumeur in 2008 to be in charge of limited editions and has previously worked for the like of Comme des Garçons and Givenchy.
Bertrand Duchaufour gave each number its own identity:
Numero 1 (water green ribbon): pear/mimosa harmony
Numero 3 (pearl gray ribbon): floral and musky / powdery and enveloping
Numero 4 (lavender blue ribbon): lavender leather cuirée
Numero 6 (orange ribbon): fruity, spicy, woody and leathery / ozone notes (after the monsoon)
Numero 7 (fuchsia ribbon): a journey to India on the Temple Road: a necklace of tuberose and jasmine around your neck, a chai tea in your hand
Numero 8 (khaki green ribbon): an elegant vetiver
After choosing a lucky number, customers can create their own formula, with the guarantee that it will be forever theirs. The price to possess such a unique and personalized object is 10′000 $. L’Artisan Parfumeur vows will never reproduce the fragrance again, except for the owner who receives a certificate of authenticity.
Unfortunately the number 2 has already been purchased but the good news is that there are 6 left…
