The influential John Galliano, Artistic Director for the chic Parisian fashion house Christian Dior, marked his debut into the world of luxury watches this year with a dedicated watch collection under his own John Galliano label.

In line with the eccentric and lavish Prêt-à-Porter – and luxury accessories collections by the designer, the debut John Gallianio luxury watches collection is a magic mix of eccentric English curiosity and charm. The watches are produced in Switzerland by the manufactory Les Jardins d’Avron SA, under a license with the Italian firm Morellato. The timepieces are unique, quirky and dramatic: exactly like Galliano had in mind.

Very identifiable throughout the entire collection is the traditional English gentlemen’s pocket watch, which served as inspiration during the design process.

The focal point of John Galliano was to create a collection with a romantic and modern character, but nonetheless recognized with by an quirky antiquated charm so fitting with the decadent Galliano DNA.

The collection is carried out in four different styles and offers wrist watches and pocket watches for both ladies and gentlemen. The pocket watch line exists of three different models, designed with typical attention for style and detail. Declined in rose gold or stainless steel, the John Galliano pocket watches have gothic “J” and “G” script hands en various other distinctive design elements and can be worn as a pendant the traditional way by men, or on a necklace by women. Introduced as the “couture piece” of the collection, the pocket watches are equipped with a mechanical movement.

John Galliano gents 36mm and ladies 26mm watch

The wrist watch line encompasses the remaining three styles, divided in case sizes of 26mm, 36mm and 44mm. The watch for all muses, the 36mm, is a unisex model declined in ten different variations. It is available with a white topaz, black spinel or with a tiger eye steel decoration case combined with a bracelet in steel, rubber, python or crocodile. The watches are decorated with a crown pin pendant style link between the second an d the fourth hand 0 rather than its traditional quarter past position -.

The 26mm wristwatch is decidedly more feminine and meant to be worn by women and thus has the most romantic appeal. As well adorned with the typical crown pin pendant between the crown and bezel, this ladies model is amongst others available in white topaz and black spinel, combined with a croc leather bracelet, lavishly decorated with an abundance of agate cabochon and amethyst stones, which are set on a beautiful dark background of spinel. The 44mm wrist watch, an exclusive masculine and luxurious gents model equipped with a automatic movement and a robust look, is available in stainless steel in combination with a steel or exotic leather bracelet strap.

Available as from this fall/winter, prices vary from 700 to 10.000 euro, with an average price of around 3.000 euro.
