During this year’s Milan Fashion Week, the Italian luxury footwear brand Casadei will celebrate its fiftieth anniversary with, for the occasion, a dedicated collection and a book. The anniversary collection, designed by Cesare Casadei , comprising eleven models of shoes made by hand by skilled artisans in San Mauro Casadei Pascoli, is featured in the third part of the book on sensual photographs by fashion photographer Ellen von Unwerth. Captured in black and white, the unique pieces celebrate the founding of the Italian house in 1958 by Quinto and Flora Casadei. Tracing fifty years of history, the book by Mariuccia Casadio contains photos from the archives of the house of hundred pairs of shoes, from spring / summer 1958 up to spring / summer 2008, as well as an interview with Cesare Casadei, the son of the founder and artistic director today. Both the anniversary collection of Casadei shoes and the book will be unveiled on September 21 during an evening at La Triennale, the Museum of Design in Milan.
