Coming Saturday, the 20th of September the Spring/Summer 2009 edition the Milanese fashion week, the Milano Moda Donna, women’s most important Prêt-à-porter fashion week, will start at the Milan Fashion Centre on Via Gattamelata, 5.
From Saturday 20th through Saturday 27th, industry operators will be able to admire, thanks to a well structured and balanced schedule, the 224 collections that will be the protagonists of Milan fashion week. There will be in fact 100 fashion shows for 93 brands, 94 presentations and 51 collections that can be visited by appointment.
Saturday 20, Friday 26 and Saturday 27 will be mainly dedicated to young designers. On Saturday 20th at 11.45 am, new upcoming designers will present their young brands and collections that won the second edition of the Fashion Incubator Project, an initiative created and implemented by Camera Nazionale della Moda Italiana and financed by the Town of Milan.
For the first time inside Milano Fashion Centre, a green area called “the Fashion Garden” has been reserved for all operators who want to relax, in between shows, in a real garden with bay trees, Japanese bamboos and a large fountain with water lilies.
More than 15.000 industry operators are awaited in Milan for this edition of fashion week. Also expected to attend the presentation of the spring/summer women’s collection are more than 2.000 media representatives, from over 42 countries.
The events’ schedule is very rich and will includes, among others, the CNMI opening of the exhibition Guido Crepax — Valentina the shape of time, on Saturday 20, and “The Milan Fashion Week”, a private party organized by WJS, The Wall Street Journal, Saks Fifth Avenue and Camera Nazionale della Moda Italiana on Wednesday 24.
The city of Milan will be once again the protagonist of Milano Moda Donna; five screens located on
Piazza San Babila, Piazza Croce Rossa, Piazza Carlo Magno, Piazza Cairoli and in Piazza Cordusio will broadcast the Spring/Summer shows live for the street public.
