Since Jimmy Choo is changing its philosophy by an increased release of new varieties and styles to appeal to the masses many feared the loss of the exclusivity of the British brand. The understated distinctiveness and integrity of Jimmy Choo shoes and accessories once was controlled by limited distribution but clearly the brand is looking to appeal to a greater mass. Time will probably tell how the brand will develop further. For this Spring/Summer season, awaited full with anticipation, the collection has arrived and there are no real disappointments. Jimmy Choo clearly innovated but the majority of the collection is gorgeous and still evokes the same voracious emotions since the launch of the brand in ’96.

Looking forward to a sizzling summer I’ve already made my picks:

Competing with my usual pick of sandals (Le Tropeziennes) this gorgeous exotic skin gladiator style flat sandal is perfect to complete that laid back yet chic summer look. It’s probably not a surprise that these flat sandals are one of Tamara Mellons favourites and I’m afraid they will be sold out in no-time. Pictured in fuchsia/green snake embossed leather with gold-tone hardware and buckled heel strap. Available at Jimmy Choo for € 495.

The Gladiator sandals actually match with the Zebra Neon fish folding purse/clutch (pictured in fuchsia/green snake embossed leather with gold-tone hardware, € 595 at Jimmy Choo) but I would prefer to pair them with the suede and watersnake Alex Bag in colour Magenta.

The Octave Patent leather sandal, with its striking modern cut but moreover the Mondrian heel, blends effortlessly into the new Spring trend of chunkier heels and is something else than the iconic, spiked heels Jimmy Choo creations.
